Harbhajan Singh thanks God for vintage performance

After been left out of Mumbai Indians in the first game, Harbhajan Singh has responded back with scintillating performances which have been instrumental in Mumbai’s four wins on the bounce. As a result of the consecutive wins, Mumbai is sitting at the top of the points table with 8 points.

India’s most successful off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh, has bowled exceptionally well so far. Though with 3 wickets in 4 games, his statistics doesn’t reflect the impact he has made but having a look at his economy rate, which is of 5.93 across 16 overs, it does tell you the story a wee bit. The 36-year old has bowled miserly with 27 runs being the highest he has given away in his four overs. Also, 5 out of his 16 overs have been bowled during the first 6 overs that too against big hitters like Gayle, Warner and Raina. Now the statistics look more impressive. Harbhajan Singh has surely turned the clock back this year.

He might be out of favour as far as an India recall is concerned, but he is the best spinner so far in the tournament. He thanked God for his clinical performances on social microblogging site twitter and conceding that it is coming out well from his hands.

He also highlighted the contributions of skipper Rohit Sharma and Nitish Rana- who has been in outstanding form this season, making the No. 3 position of his own; and Kieron Pollard, who is fresh from a match winning 70 which he followed up with a classy 39, in their 6-wicket win against Gujarat Lions.

Nitish Rana has been the find of the season so far. The left-hander has topped the batting charts for Mumbai Indians so far, scoring 193 runs in 5 innings with an average of 38.60 with two half-centuries against his name.

Rohit Sharma got a 40* under his belt to end his barrage of single-digit scores in the first 4 games, which is a great news for Mumbai Indians. They look an unbeaten side at the moment as they are excelling in all departments of the game.
