The brothers’ duo of Hardik and Krunal Pandya has been signed up by Swaraj Cricket Club, a second division Tamil Nadu Cricket Association team. It is believed that Swaraj CC has acquired the services of the Baroda and Mumbai Indians’ players in a bid to make a northward move as a first division team in the TNCA.

As per the Association’s rules, a club team is allowed to field a maximum of two outstation players. Krunal and Hardik will thus be expected to play a key role for the team in upcoming games. Swaraj CC which is one of the 12 teams that play the second division will look to use the services of the two experienced players to boost their chances of qualifying as a first division team.

Krunal who was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2016 auction performed exceedingly well with both bat and ball and emerged as a vital cog in the MI team as the league progressed. He scored 237 runs in 12 matches, played at least a couple of match-winning knocks and also grabbed 6 wickets during the course of the league. Hardik, on the other hand, had a tough time in this IPL after his relatively successful stint with the Indian team which saw him make his debut and play the Asia Cup T20 and the World T20 for India in the same season. The younger Pandya brother could just score 44 runs from 11 matches with 3 wickets in his account.

With no other domestic assignments at hand, this is a good opportunity for both the youngsters to put up some impressive performances for the team and remain in the reckoning for much bigger selections.
