Harmeet Singh stars for Payyade SC with a 9-wicket haul in the Kanga League
The 25-year old feels that he has been bowling consistently for a while now.
Mumbai’s left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh bowled a match-winning spell, which helped his side, Payyade beat Mumbai Police Gymkhana by six wickets in the Kanga League ‘A’ Division game. The orthodox spinner picked up 9 wickets to reduce the host team for a low score of 154. Harmeet has always been a promising talent since when he featured in the India Under-19 team in 2012 Junior World Cup.
His brave spell of spin bowling helped his side win the game as they chased the target with ease after loosing only 4 wickets. Left-hand batsman Praful Waghela scored a half-century along with Harsh Tank who scored 43 runs in the easy run-chase. Harmeet revealed his happiness after the blistering spell, which left the opposition batters shell-shocked.
I am bowling consistently
The 25-year old feels that he has been bowling consistently for a while now. He also stated that its good to hit the right length at the beginning of the season.
“It’s good that I’m bowling consistently well at the beginning of the season this time. I’m going in games with the confidence that I can pick wickets. It would help me when the first-class season comes. Since our team is normally packed with five-six good bowlers, it’s difficult to get one long spell,” said Harmeet, as quoted by TOI.

The Kanga Cricket League is a league cricket competition in Mumbai, inaugurated in 1948. It is named after Hormasji Kanga, who played 43 first-class cricket matches as an all-rounder and was also a selector for the India national cricket team. A total of 98 teams play in the Kanga League, which are further divided into 7 groups of 14 teams each. The game between the Mumbai Police Gymkhana team and the Payyade ended in a one-sided fixture, which the Payyade won by six-wickets, after Harmeet’s 9-wicket haul.
