England batting sensation Haseb Hameed has been withdrawn from the Marylebone Cricket Club side that will be playing the English County Championship at Lords in the upcoming edition of the tournament given the fact that he is England’s new golden head boy. In spite of being the beneficiary of an impressive debut, Hameed was on the losing side in the grand scheme of things as England went ahead and lost the 5-match series 4-0.

However, despite this, Hameed’s tour was cut short as he went ahead and fractured his hand. However, the lad showed tremendous character as he came to the fore with some tremendous batting on the day as he exhibited some amazing character. He also smashed an impressive 59 as he won not only the toast of one and all but also a meeting with India skipper Virat Kohli.

John Stephenson, the head of cricket for the MCC also went ahead and released a statement stating that Haseeb Hameed and Matt Fisher. The latter did not have a reason for his absence and will be replaced by Liam Plunkett. The latter is also fresh from the ODI and T20I series against the Indians. Alex Lees, the Middlesex batsman has replaced Hameed in the side and is also an exciting young talent in the grand scheme of things.

“Of course it is a shame that Haseeb and Matt have had to withdraw from the squad, but we have two excellent replacements in Liam and Alex who will add experience and firepower,” said MCC head of cricket John Stephenson.

“Our team is full of exciting young English cricketers and I am really looking forward to seeing them in what should be a very competitive and engaging match.”
