Hashim Amla's Test captaincy in numbers

Hashim Amla stepped down as the South African captain after the end of New Year’s Test match at Cape Town against England. Amla had a great start to his captaincy career as he had 4 wins in the first 6 matches he led with other 2 ending in a draw.

He was known as a captain who could make bold decisions and also led SA to a long-awaited Test series win in Sri Lanka. However, Amla faced some tough days as a captain and also as a batsman in last 5-6 months. His side failed to win a single Test match in this period even after playing 8 matches.
