United Arab Emirates (UAE) Women will take on the Hong Kong Women in a four-match T20I series slated to start on April 27 (Wednesday), with the final match to be played on April 30 (Saturday). All four matches of the series will take place at the Malek Cricket Ground, UAE. In the last outings between the two nations, UAE has managed to beat Hong Kong in both encounters. The first loss was during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier, where Hong Kong felt short by 21 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Chasing only 106 runs, most of the Hong Kong batters could not manage to stick on the wicket despite getting reasonable starts. For UAE, Shubha Venkataraman, Chamani Seneviratna, Esha Oza, and Humaira Tasneem were the successful bowlers as Hong Kong were halted on 85/8 in their batting. Venkataraman was adjudged player of the match for her excellent bowling performance of 2/16 in her four-over quota. UAE and Hong Kong last played against each during Asia Region Qualifier for T20 WC The second outing was a little close fight among two associate nations, but UAE again managed to come out on top against their opponents by 11 runs during ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier. UAE, on the back of Kavisha Egodage (28 off 35 balls), Esha Oza (22 off 28 balls), managed to put 128 runs on the board in their allotted 20 overs. For Hong Kong, Kary Chan (three wickets) and Ruchitha Venkatesh (two wickets). In reply, batter Natasha Miles (37 off 37) and Chan (25 off 22 balls) tried their level best to chase down the target. However, they fell short by 11 runs. In bowling, Chaya Mughal (two wickets) in her three overs and Oza (two wickets) in three overs did the job for their team. Mughal was adjudged player of the match for her impressive performance. With the four-match T20I series between UAE and Hong Kong Women, the two teams will be keen on coming out on top of each other over the four days of action.
