On 3rd of April, Narendra Modi, the honourable Indian Prime Minister requested all Indians to switch off all the lights of their house and light torches, candles and diya to show the nation’s collective resolve and solidarity in its fight against the ongoing pandemic.

Millions of people responded to the request. Meanwhile, some people burnt crackers due to which a vacant land in Jaipur caught fire. Later on, Harbhajan Singh, the veteran Indian spinner came out and lashed out at people for committing such act.

Earlier, the Indian government announced lockdown in the country for 21 days in the wake of the pandemic. It was done to keep the people away from getting infected from the virus. Afterwards, PM Narendra Modi asked people to do the ‘lights-off’ exercise on April 5 at 9 pm for 9 minutes.

People from every caste and creed came forward and showed light candles, diya, torches and phone flashlights from their balconies. Meanwhile, there were some people, who forgot the plot and began burning firecrackers that gave air to a tragedy in Jaipur.

A journalist took to his Twitter handle and shared a clip of burning land. He gave a caption to his post that read, “Massive fire in a building in my neighbourhood from bursting crackers for #9baje9mintues. Fire brigade just drove in. Hope everyone’s safe.”

As soon as Harbhajan Singh came across this post, he was left fuming over the stupidity of people under such alarming conditions. He quickly took to his Twitter handle and said we can found the cure for Coronavirus. But, it is difficult to find a cure for such stupid people. His post read, “We Will find a cure for corona but how r we gonna find a cure for stupidity.”

Later on, Jagdish Phulwari, the chief police officer said that there was no causality reported in the fire as there was no one present in the house at the time of the incident. Such kind of attitude and behaviour was not acceptable from the people during the lockdown.

Even Rohit Sharma, the Indian opener also took a hilarious jibe in his recent social media activity saying that the World Cup is still far away. So, there is no reason to celebrate. The right-handed batsman also requested the people to just sit back at their home until the situation comes under control.
