The Delhi Capitals (DC) completed a comfortable victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their group stage encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on May 11 (Wednesday). Even though Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was adjudged the Player of the Match for his performance with both bat and ball, his countryman David Warner also played an excellent knock and remained unbeaten on 52.

It must be noted that the left-handed batter was bagged by the Capitals during the IPL 2022 mega auction and since then Warner has played some vital knocks for his new franchise DC. The pocket dynamite from Australia also stroked an unbeaten 92 against his former franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad recently and helped his side to win that contest as well. Meanwhile, the left-handed batter was seen celebrating in the dressing room along with his teammates and staff after their huge victory over the Royals.

After the win over RR in the 58th match of IPL 2022, the left-handed batter yelled “How’s the josh” in the DC dressing room while the others responded with “High sir.”

“It’s important (to win big) as the net run rate is a big factor with many teams in the race for those spots. Everyone is in good spirits and this is a great win for us,” Warner said in a post-match conversation with Star Sports.

“Feels good to get across the line. How good was Mitch there! Came out there and started positively. We just told him that if he can get an 80 or 90, he can win games for us. Bowlers did a great job too. It was a bit two-paced, that hard length wasn’t easy to hit,” the left-handed batter added.

Talking about David Warner’s numbers in IPL 2022, the left-handed batter has already amassed 427 runs in just ten matches and he is currently the third-highest run-getter in the tournament. Warner would be willing to play a key role in DC’s next two matches against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 16 and Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 21.
