Hyderabad wants Pragyan Ojha, Ambati Rayudu back on the roster

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) recently expressed their desire to get their ‘home’ players back on the roster for the state team. HCA hopes to have the services of Pragyan Ojha and Ambati Rayudu before the next domestic season. Rayudu and Ojha are big name players in the Indian domestic circuit. The state association board has been trying everything to get things back on the roll for the sport of cricket in Hyderabad.

The city that has produced legendary cricketers like Mohammad Azharuddin and VVS Laxman, has seen a slump in the recent times. The board recently appointed T Seshnarayan as the Secretary of the HCA. Soon after taking charge of the top role, he has taken some bold steps to get things in proper place for the Hyderabadi cricket.

As per the quotes in The Hindu, the Secretary noted that they have already approached the two cricketers. In the previous couple of seasons, Ambati Rayudu and Pragyan Ojha  have been taking the field for other teams. Ojha’s recent stint with the Bengal team was not quite fruitful for him though. Over the years, both Rayudu and Ojha have emerged as star performers of the team.

Seshnarayan believes that the sons of Hyderabad must get back ‘home’ and serve their traits there. He further added that he has been getting positive vibes about the same from the two players. Ojha has been an out-of-favor Indian team candidate while Ambati Rayudu continues to be in the mix of things for the limited overs for the national side.

“Pragyan and Rayudu are our boys. After taking charge, we have already approached both of them that we want them back. They are our sons and they should now come back ‘home’. They left for different reasons. Although there is some way to go, I have received positive vibes,” quoted the HCA Secretary.
