After a few players left the IPL midway due to personal concerns, an umpire has also joined the list. After the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa left the IPL bio bubble, Indian umpire Nitin Menon has left the tournament midway too.

With the entire country going through such a grim situation, and with Covid-19 wreaking havoc, Menon left the IPL bio bubble to be with his family. Nitin Menon’s wife and mother had both tested positive for coronavirus, and Menon left the tournament to take care of them.

And now, Menon has opened up on the break that he took from his officiating duties. He said that he is currently in the hospital with his family members. The umpire concluded by stating that he is currently on a break, and will be taking care of his family.

“I am in hospital and taking care of my family members. I am on a break. Have to see my family,” said Menon as quoted by the Times of India.
