Virat Kohli dropped two bombshells in four days regarding his captaincy this month. He first announced that he will be stepping down as India’s T20 captain after the upcoming World Cup and then also decided to give up his RCB captaincy after the ongoing IPL season. This came as a shock for his fans while some of the experts believed that the decision was on expected lines.

Popular Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep has reacted now to Virat Kohli stepping down as captain in T20 format and believes the man has done it for his own good as the batsman. He also felt that Kohli is aware of what he is doing at the moment. When asked about the 32-year-old’s successor, Sudeep didn’t name any specific players but believed whoever will take over the reins of the team, will do a good job.

“I’m sure he (Kohli) knows what he’s doing and it’s for the betterment of his own game and I think whoever owns that cap will do great. Just look at the squad we have so many wonderful players,” the actor said while speaking to Gulf News.

Any team can have a bad day, Sudeep comes out in support of RCB

Kichcha Sudeep is a huge fan of cricket and is often spotted in the stadium. He visited Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (September 20) to witness the clash between RCB and KKR and saw the Kohli-led side catapult to just 92 runs on the day. It was a one-sided encounter as KKR won the game easily by nine wickets.

The 48-year-old, however, came out in support of RCB amidst a lot of criticism of the team stating that a team can always have a bad day. “We often have this imaginary stone in our hands every time we are watching a cricket match. We are ready to stone them. It’s a game at the end of the day. The fact is that the other team (KKR) played extremely well and so give them some credit. After all, many from that team also belong to India,” Sudeep added.
