'I do not have any fear' - Gautam Gambhir unfazed by death threats from ISIS

Former Indian cricketer and current Member of Parliament, Gautam Gambhir received death threats from the ISIS. In fact, an email that was sent to Gambhir states that the Delhi Police cannot save the cricketer.

The email even added that spies are present in even the Delhi Police Department and all the information about Gambhir is reaching the ISIS. “Your Delhi Police and IPS Shweta can’t uproot anything. Our spies are also present in the police, we are receiving all information about you,” read the email.

In fact, Gambhir had received an email earlier, which stated that he was to be killed, but he somehow managed to survive. The mail even warned Gambhir to stay away from the Kashmir issue and not to venture into politics.

“We intended to kill you, but you survived yesterday. If you love the life of your family, stay away from politics and the Kashmir issue,” read the mail.

Gautam Gambhir, who attended the inauguration of the East Delhi Premier League said that he does not fear anyone and will continue to do his work. The 40-year-old also said that the investigation by the Intelligence Bureau is underway regarding the matter as well.

“I do not have any kind of fear. Intelligence Bureau (IB) investigation is on. But I do not stop myself to do work and take part in such types of events. My main focus is on the success of this event now,” said Gambhir.

Gautam Gambhir played 58 Tests, 147 ODIs, and 37 T20Is for the Indian side. While he scored 4154 runs in Tests, he amassed 5238 runs in the ODI format of the game. In T20I cricket, the left-handed batter scored 932 runs. Gambhir played his last international match for the Indian side in the year 2016.
