India and England are all set to battle it out against each other in the first Test match that will commence on August 4. With the injury concerns of the team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced replacements for the side wherein Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav will be heading to the UK. The former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, however, feels that though India has been hit with injuries, it won’t quite affect their planning for the series.

Both Virat Kohli and Ajnkya Rahane did not play in the practice match owing to a stiff back and swollen hamstring respectively. But Inzamam-ul-Haq pointed out that India has a lot of alternatives under its sleeves and thus these injuries might not concern them much. He also asserted that the team was struck with a similar situation in Australia but they pulled it off with the help of the youngsters in the side that exuded some great character on the field.

“Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw, who was doing well in Sri Lanka, will now fly to England. I don’t think Team India will be too worried though over injuries. They faced a similar situation in Australia as well but they did not panic at all. The youngsters rose to the occasion and displayed great maturity as if they had been playing for many years,” Inzamam-ul-Haq told on his YouTube channel.

Having coached the under-19 sides, Rahul Dravid has been pivotal in shaping the careers of many youngsters. Inzamam-ul-Haq highlighted the importance of having a good bench strength and credited Rahul Dravid for building the young talents and grooming them well.
