Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz has denied the reports of him being deported from London. To note, the left-arm pacer was picked up by the Northern Superchargers for the 2022 edition of The Hundred and he will travel to the United Kingdom (UK) for the tournament around August. Riaz will be playing side by side against some other big names including Faf de Plessis, Ben Stokes and Adil Rashid.

However, there were reports that the left-arm pacer was deported from London. Riaz has now come up with a clarification, stating that he never went to the country and has been with his family in Lahore.  It is worth mentioning that Riaz did face some visa issues during his visit to the UK for The Hundred last year. The pacer also talked about the training in process for the Hundred tournament.

How can I be deported from London when I did not even travel there?: Wahab Riaz

Speaking in a telephonic interview with Cricket Pakistan, pacer Riaz confirmed that he did not travel to London and the reports of him being deported are fake.

“How can I be deported from London when I did not even travel there? I have been with my family in Lahore,” Riaz said.

“The training for The Hundred is in process and my body is adapting well. I am full of confidence and I am also backing myself to perform well in the tournament,” he added.

The left-arm pacer made his first T20 appearance for Pakistan way back in 2008 against Bangladesh and played his last T20I match against New Zealand in December 2020. He has played 36 T20 matches for Pakistan and has scalped 34 wickets. The veteran pacer bowls at an economy of 8.21 in the 20-over format.

The experienced pacer has played for several teams and franchises in his cricketing career including Kent, Ruhuna Royals, Peshawar Zalmi, Barbados Royals, Kandahar Knights, Northern Knights and Kandy Tuskers among others.
