Rashid Khan was snapped up by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping INR 4 crores, becoming only the second Afghanistan player to ever get a contract in the Indian Premier League. Franchises were involved in a bidding war for this young man as many wanted his services for the upcoming season of the richest league in the world.

Rashid Khan, however, is quite relaxed when it comes to his cricket and performing in the league. He is looking forward to meeting the coaches of the Hyderabad franchises and especially Muralidharan from he will seek some great advice.

“It is a big opportunity to meet Tom Moody, VVS Laxman, and Muttiah Muralitharan. Murali has taken 800 wickets in Test cricket and it’s obvious that I will ask him for a few tips and learn from him to improve my bowling skills,” said Rashid Khan while talking to the Indian Express.

The ever so optimistic Rashid Khan wants to take the wicket of Royal Challenger Bangalore’s AB de Villiers in the first game of the season. Being one of the best batters in the world, every bowler craves for his wicket and Rashid is no different.

The 18-year-old said, “In the IPL, I am looking forward to playing the first match against RCB. I want to pick up the wicket of AB de Villiers. He is known as one of the batsmen in the world in the shorter format and it will be a real challenge to bowl to him.”

Afridi was the youngest spinner to reach 50 ODI wickets and this Afghan broke his record and is ecstatic about it. He said, “I am happy that I broke Afridi’s record and I hope that I continue to perform at the highest level.”

He specializes in reading the mind of the batters and is pretty handy when it comes to breaking some crucial and dangerous partnerships. When asked about his role he said the same and sounded pretty confident.

Rashid said, “I generally come into bowl when the team needs a breakthrough and I love to read a batsman’s mind and then bowl the opposite of what he is thinking. I also try to read his weaknesses and attack those areas.”
