Ian Botham's granddaughter appointed as one of the judges of Miss England Final

Ian Botham, one of the greatest all-rounders the cricketing world has ever seen, had another proud moment to remember as his granddaughter Imani-Jayne Botham has been appointed as one of the judges of the Miss England final in Doncaster. The Miss England Regional Final 2022 is scheduled to be held on August 6 and will feature the top contestants from various regions. It has to be noted that Imani had won the Miss England award representing Yorkshire last year during the lockdown time and now she is back for the prestigious event as a judge. She even noted the importance of having a no make-up round last year to embrace the natural beauty of the women and felt that the round would provide a lot more confidence to the individuals. “In today’s world, many people are shaped by the unrealistic expectations of society and beauty demands. Issues surrounding mental health are becoming increasingly more prominent, with social media playing a part,” Imani was quoted as saying by examinerlive.co.uk. “It’s very easy to compare ourselves against what we see on these platforms, and that’s why this round plays a large role in encouraging individuals to feel confident from the inside out,” she added. Ian Botham’s spectacular numbers in international cricket Imani’s grandfather Botham was one of the rarest breeds of cricketers who could have a big impact with both bat and ball, and he kept producing mind-blowing performances from time to time. The right-hander made his international debut in 1976 and went on to represent his country for the next 16 years. Botham played for England in 102 Tests and 116 ODIs, scoring 5200 and 2113 runs, respectively in each of the formats. He also picked up 383 Test wickets and 145 ODI wickets in his international career. With 14 Test tons and 27 five-wicket hauls in international cricket, Botham created a legacy for himself and was the poster boy of his cricket era in England especially. Post-retirement, Botham won the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award and the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award.
