Preview:

The regional finals for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers end with the Americas where four sides clash for the remaining two spots. In the opening game of this tournament, the hosts Bermuda will face the United State of America. The game to be played on Sunday will be the first T20I game for Bermuda since the 2008 Associates T20I Tri-series hosted by Ireland. Bermuda lost all three matches they played in it.

Ahead of the big tournament, Bermuda had to take the digest the news of their captain Dion Stovell getting ruled out. Stovell was hospitalized after being hit on the head by a bouncer from Justin Pitcher during Domestic Cup match last month. He was believed to have recovered from the blow and was named to lead the team. Three days before the start, Terryn Fray was announced as the stand-in captain.

Weather Condition/Report:

The weather forecast suggested dry weather during the match. However, about 20% of chances of rain are predicted for the morning. This could only delay the start of the game and reduction by a couple of overs but won’t have a major effect in deciding the result.

Pitch Condition/Report:

It is tough to predict the pitch due to lack of data of the recent matches played at the White Hill Field in Sandys Parish. However, the pitches in Bermuda stay on the slower side and scores of 160 are good enough if a team bats first.
