Qatar and Kuwait face off in a crucial game on Friday which will decide their fate in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Final tournament. Qatar faced the hosts Singapore in the first game of the tournament and lost by 33 runs chasing a target of 187. They bounced back with a win against the favourites Nepal. They chased down Nepal’s total of 122 with four wickets and four balls to spare.

On the other hand, Kuwait also suffered a defeat on the opening day of the tournament. On a track that was getting slow down, they got bowled out for 120 in 18 overs in pursuit of Malaysia’s 162. Kuwait looked set to narrow down the losing margin but lost their last seven wickets in the space of five overs. Their second match against Singapore got abandoned due to rain that got the outfield unfit for play.

Expert Advice:

Kuwait’s Ravija Sandaruwan has an interesting T20I career as he scored a century, two fifties and a 40+ score in four of the eight innings. In the remaining four innings, the opener got out for single digits including two ducks. Interestingly, a 40+ score was followed by a single digit score and vice versa. Going by that streak, he becomes big pick during the game against Qatar having bagged a duck in against Malaysia.

Probable Winners:

Qatar is expected to defeat Kuwait having gained the confidence from the win against Nepal.
