Match Details:

The 5th place play-off of the 2019 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier between Scotland Women and Netherlands Women will be hosted by the Lochlands in Arbroath.

The match starts at 2:00 PM local time (1:00 PM GMT) (6:30 PM IST).

Preview:

The hosts Scotland Women failed to qualify for the T20 World Cup as they suffered close defeats against Bangladesh and Papua New Guinea who made it to semi-finals. However, Scotland has a chance to finish at No.5 when they face the Netherlands on the last day of the tournament. Scotland recorded a thumping 10-wicket against Namibia in the 2nd playoff match.

On the other hand, Netherlands Women cruised through to a 9-wicket win over the United States of America. Interestingly, both Scotland and Netherlands have two wins in the tournament thus far; both against the USA and Namibia. Both the teams have played some good cricket in the competition and possess some perfect players for the T20 format but it is the results that went wrong for them.

Weather Condition/Report:

The tournament will conclude with a dry day in Arbroath with a possibility of a full 20-over match. The skies are expected to be partly cloudy but won’t be carrying any rain.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The matches hosted by Arbroath have followed a certain template. The team batting first loses a couple of wickets against the new ball and ends up with around 100 on the board. The chasing team bags a comfortable win against such low targets.

Expert Advice:

If Kathryn Bryce does not open the innings, her sister Sarah Bryce is ideal as captain. Kathryn is still too good as vice-captain. She has earned 30+ points in all the matches including 33 in the previous game.

Probable Winners:

Scotland Women might finish at No.5 with yet another win.
