Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka have registered stunning victories after being blown away in their respective opening matches. While the Men in Green have gone past England in a high-scoring encounter, Sri Lanka defended 186 runs against Afghanistan courtesy the former’s pacers. This World Cup is all about consistency which is what these two teams have been lacking in a couple of years.

They will lock horns at the County Ground in Bristol on Friday where Australia defeated Afghanistan easily. Last time, when these two sides met in England, it was a virtual knockout game in the Champions Trophy and Pakistan had kept their nerves in a close encounter. As far as the team combinations are concerned, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Dimuth Karunaratne are unlikely to make any changes depending upon the conditions and the player getting injured.

Match Details

The 11th match of the ICC World Cup 2019 will be played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the County Ground in Bristol.

The match starts at 10:30 AM local time (09:30 AM GMT) (3:00 PM IST).

The game will be live on Star Sports. Live streaming available on Hotstar.

Weather Report

Once again, the weather gods might not have much pity for the clash between Asian teams. At the moment, according to AccuWeather, there is a 63% chance of rain in the morning and it will remain cloudy throughout the day with the heavens threatening to open up at any stage. But the weather tends to improve later as it was for Australia-Windies game in Nottingham who was greeted by sunshine at the venue. With the English weather being unpredictable, one can just hope that the rain gods don’t spoil the day.

Pitch Report

The Bristol surface is generally known to produce a lot of runs. Windies smashed 421 runs against New Zealand during the warm-ups and then Afghanistan put up 207 runs against Australia on June 1. If conditions are taken out of the equation, it should be a batting track once again and will possibly be a high-scoring encounter if the teams are going in with the good form.

Average first innings score: 297 (Last three completed One-Day matches (including the warm-ups)).

Record of the chasing teams: Won – 2; Lost – 1
