All eyes are on the weather as India and New Zealand gear up to take on each other in the eighteenth match of the World Cup 2019 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. The weather forecast is not at all promising for the huge clash but given the fickle nature of weather in England, there are still hopes. India and New Zealand are the only two unbeaten teams in the competition so far. The Kiwis are sitting at the top of the points table with three wins in as many games while India are third after winning both of their encounters.

The Men in Blue enter the competition high on confidence after a thumping win over defending champions Australia. It was a clinical performance from the Indian team against the five-time world champions. Virat Kohli’s decision to bat first on a flat Oval track proved decisive as they piled up 352 for the loss of 5 wickets.

Shikhar Dhawan starred with the bat by scoring a fine ton while Kohli and Rohit Sharma scored fifties. Their bowlers then choked the Aussies early on which eventually made the difference. Australia were bowled all out for 316. New Zealand, on the other hand, enter the contest having thrashed Afghanistan by seven wickets in their last outing. The Blackcap bowlers continued their fine run and bowled out the newcomers for just 172. In reply, their batsmen chased down the total inside 33 overs at the coast of just three wickets.

How’s the weather expected to be:

There is a possibility that this becomes the fourth wash out of World Cup 2019. According to AccuWeather, there are chances of rain throughout the course of the match. The possibility is more than 60% around the scheduled start of the game. For the next two hours and the chances will only increase. In the second half, it lowers down but will still be alarming as it will hover in the higher side of the 50s.

As far as the temperature is concerned, it will be a chilly morning with the mercury hovering between 11-13 degree Celsius for the most part of the match.
