For the first time in almost a decade, we saw the resumption of cricketing ties in Pakistan and it was during the final of the Pakistan Super League when a group of foreign players visited the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to compete in the final of the mega event. Peshawar Zalmi defeated the Quetta Gladiators to lift the title.

After successfully holding the final of PSL, the bigwigs of Cricket has agreed on sending a World XI to Pakistan for competing in a 3 match T20 series later in the year. The decision came after receiving reports from the security officials of various boards and ICC which was prepared during their visit to Lahore during for the PSL final.

The Chairman of PSL, Najam Sethi confirmed the news that a top World XI team comprising of current player will be sent to Pakistan for a 3 match T20 series. Taking to his twitter handle Sethi wrote, “Giles Clarke has reviewed security report of ICC experts & agreed 3 T20 matches in Pak end Sep of ICC Team of world’s TOP current players.”

and the Asian giants have played all their home matches in UAE and Dubai. The pitches in the middle-east have been not a proper Test match wicket which has affected Pakistan cricket in the longer run.

Minnows Zimbabwe agreed to travel to the nation in 2015 and it was the first time that an international match was held in Pakistan since 2009. It was a big moment for the country but they have still failed to convince top-notch teams to travel as the risk factor is huge in the nation. Bomb blasts is a regular feature in the nation but the situation might have improved considering the bigwigs agreed to send a top class World XI team to the nation later in the year.
