Wriddhiman Saha has been in the news ever since he has been dropped from India’s Test side for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. It all started when the wicket-keeper batter shared a Whatsapp chat in which a ‘respected’ journalist had threatened him for not giving an interview. A lot of support followed for the cricketer from the fraternity as many urged for him to expose the name of the journalist as well.

Moreover, even the BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal stated that the board will look into the matter and speak with Saha. However, the 37-year-old isn’t interested in revealing the name of the person who threatened and understand that it could damage his/her reputation and career.

In a series of tweet, Wriddhiman Saha has cleared that he was hurt and offended with the messages but isn’t exposing the name in public on grounds of humanity. Having said that, Saha has also warned that he will not hold back if such incident happens again. He also thanked everyone for all the support during this tough period.

“I was hurt and offended. I thought not to tolerate such kind of behaviour and didn’t want anyone to go through these kind of bullying. I decided I will go out and expose the chat in public eye, but not his/her name. My nature isnt such that I will harm anyone to the extent of ending someone’s career. So on grounds of humanity looking at his/her family, I am not exposing the name for the time being. But if any such repetition happens, I will not hold back.

“I thank each and everyone who has shown support and extended their willingness to help. My gratitude,” he wrote in a series of tweets.

Team India moving on from Wriddhiman Saha

Meanwhile, team India has decided to move on from Wriddhiman Saha in Test cricket. India head coach Rahul Dravid properly communicated to the cricketer about team management’s thinking during the South Africa tour. Rishabh Pant remains India’s first choice wicketkeeper while KS Bharat has been drafted into the side as his back up for the Sri Lanka series now.
