Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed is inching to remove the ‘banned’ tag against his name. Taskin was found to have illegal bowling action in the World T20 in India earlier this year and were suspended from bowling in international cricket following an ICC lab test.
He along with the left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny are all set to test their bowling action at an ICC-accredited centre in Brisbane on September 8. He said that he wants to get away from the burden and wants to get back into international cricket soon.
“This is a burden for me,” Taskin said. “Just like anyone else, I would also like to return to international cricket quickly. If the word ‘banned’ is removed from my life, it would be like every day is Eid,” he said.
He expressed his worries saying that day-in and day-out the only thing that comes to his mind is about the test is going to have. “I’m thinking about the test while eating and sleeping,” Taskin said. “I feel the same way as one would while hearing the date of the school final exams. You keep preparing, but when you hear the date, you get a little nervous. But I’m happy that a date has been fixed. I am preparing both mentally and physically through my skills.”

The 21-year old had been tested by the coaching staff of BCB, Zaki. Both indoor and outdoor test has been carried out. At the time of ban, Taskin was informed that his slower bouncer is the one which had that issue. Since then, all his variations has been tested and corrected with the help of the BCB’s bowling action review committee.
“Experts at home are satisfied with my bowling action,” he said. “I am also satisfied. But since it is a test, even one problem found in a delivery can be a major issue. I am training hard and the rest is up to god,” he concluded.
