The Pakistani domestic season has been going on in full swing. As the first round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy kicked off, there was a lot of discontent amongst the players. Many cricketers were not pleased with the poor state of the ground and dressing room. Earlier, even Misbah-ul-Haq had posted a video criticizing the playing conditions.

Now it is former Pakistan batsman Imran Farhat who expressed his frustration on Twitter. The opener is the captain of the Habib Bank Limited side was not at all satisfied with the facilities at the Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad. He felt that they were nowhere up to the standards of a premier domestic competition in the country.

Video of the dressing room:

“So many players are bitten by bugs during the match at Diamond cricket ground. Around 8 HBL players been to hospital because of disgusting dressing room and ground,” he wrote.

The former cricketer wasn’t done yet. He posted another picture of players in the team bus. Farhat in the image is displaying a bug bite on his arm. He further stated that the players were feeling sick and constantly struggling due to the ground conditions. He remarked that most of them were on antibiotics.

Not just because international players were a part of the game, the playing conditions deserved to be a lot better in general. For the cricketers to be able to go out there and deliver their best, it is important that the outside factors don’t hamper their mental space. Pakistani fans lauded Farhat on social media for highlighting the issue and speaking about it.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to take notice or respond in the matter. Recently, the working mechanism underwent a change as Najam Sethi stepped down from the post of PCB chief. Ehsan Mani has been appointed as the new chairman of the board.
