India have to be extra cautious now, says Rohit Sharma: India have to play their best cricket to bounce back strongly in the three match ODI series, feels Rohit Sharma. Bangladesh had earlier notched up a famous win on Thursday as they had prevailed over India by 79 runs. “They (Bangladesh) are playing some good cricket off late,” said Rohit in Mirpur on Sunday. “We can’t take any team for granted. With the current form with them, we have to be at our best. From our point of view, it’s very important that we stick to our game plan. They have got nothing to lose. India have everything to lose. We have to extra careful in what we do. We understand that coming to their territory we expected them to play this way. But that is no excuse. As professionals we should be aware of the opposition’s strengths and weaknesses. I am sure we will be more prepared in the next game” Rohit was the only consolation for India in the batting department on Thursday as he top scored with 63. . “We knew what went wrong in the first match. We will think about it and when we come back and play the second ODI it will be a different Indian side. We have got certain plans coming their way, hopefully we will try and execute those plans and things will work in our favour then.” Rohit feels there is no added pressure despite trailing in the series. “There is no pressure. We just need to come and play the way we have been playing,” he said. “We just have to get our basics right and be a little more aggressive. This is the same Indian team that played in the World Cup, so I don’t see any reason why we cannot change the results in our favour. Speaking about the wicket that the sides will play on, Rohit said, “It’s always important to take wickets up front. That is something we will be focusing on: to get early wickets. It always builds pressure when you take early wickets. That was missing in the first game. The wicket looks quite similar to the first game. Generally, it tends to play similarly, and we need to understand where we lack.” Rohit also instigated the batsman to spend more time on the crease. “As a batting group, it’s our responsibility to bat as long as possible and get the team into a good position. At the same time, we have spoken about playing aggressive cricket. While doing that you will have to play a few shots and you may get out, that’s the nature of the game right now.” he said.
