It was only in a recent while when former Pakistan leg spinner Danish Kaneria spoke in an interview that his teammate Shahid Afridi forced him to convert to Islam. But, after the controversial interview, Afridi blasted the former spinner by adding that he should stop giving interviews to the ‘enemy country’ referring to India. Afridi also accused Kaneria of inciting religious sentiments by giving these kinds of interviews.

However, in the latest turn, Kaneria has given a fitting reply to the former Pakistan captain and added that India is not our enemy rather enemies are those who instigate people in name of religion. The former spinner also added that when he raised his voice against forced conversation, he got threats that his career would be ended.

“India is not our enemy. Our enemies are those who instigate people in the name of religion. If you consider India as your enemy, then don’t ever go to any Indian media channel,” tweeted Kaneria in reply to what Afridi said earlier.

“When I raised my voice against forced conversion, I was threatened that my career would be destroyed,” he added.

Shahid Afridi earlier raised finger on Danish Kaneria’s character

Earlier, Afridi had added that if Kaneria was in such a problem, he should have complained to PCB rather than giving interviews here and there. He also raised finger on the leg spinner’s character by referring to the spot-fixing scandal that ended his career and defamed the name of the country.

“If my attitude was bad then why he did not complain to the Pakistan Cricket Board or the department he was playing for. He is giving interviews to our enemy country which can incite religious sentiments. And the person saying all this, look at his own character,” Afridi had said earlier as quoted by news.com.pk.

Afridi also added in his statements earlier that Kaneria was just like his brother. Kaneria picked up 261 wickets for his nation while appearing in 61 Tests.
