Earlier in the day, the news broke out that India-Pakistan bilateral cricketing ties might resume later in the year at Dubai with BCCI proposing a full schedule comprising of 3 Tests, 5 ODI’s and 2 T20I’s. But the former and the present Pakistan cricketers have clearly warned PCB to not except resumption of bilateral ties from BCCI in the coming future.

According to reports from India Today, the BCCI had written to the government a month and a half back soliciting its permission to finalise the tour. It is a part of the routine that the BCCI has to seek an approval because if the government disallows then the board have to organise other teams to play in place of Pakistan.

“They just want to play around with us as always. They are least interested in playing us in a bilateral series,” former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad was quoted as saying by News 18. He also mentioned that they had tried to resume bilateral ties with India but without any success and PCB should understand that BCCI just wants to play around with them. “They make one excuse or the other. This latest sweet trap is perhaps to convince Pakistani officials to not bring up the issue of bilateral series with India at the ICC meeting next month,” Miandad further added.

While the Pakistan Cricket Board will discuss the matter with ICC, Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq said that it is good news if India is seriously harbouring the option of resuming bilateral ties with them. “I don’t know what is happening, apart from what comes in the media, but if they want to resume bilateral series this year it would be a big boost for both Pakistan and Indian cricket and fans,” Misbah said.

PCB chief Shaharyar Khan when asked to comment on the proposed series, said the BCCI haven’t spoken to them regarding the prospect of playing a possible full bilateral series in Dubai in November and he can let us know on that matter only after having a talk with ICC and BCCI.
