India to face Pakistan on February 27 in Asia Cup T20 2016

India and Pakistan will face off twice in 2 months in Twenty20 Internationals, first in Asia Cup and next in World T20 2016. The tournament is to be held in Bangladesh from 24 February to 6 March 2016. It will be the 13th edition of the Asia Cup, the fifth to be held in Bangladesh, and the first to be played using the T20I format.
Along with Bangladesh (the host) and Sri Lanka (the defending champions from the 2014 event), the tournament will include India, Pakistan, and one ICC associate member, to be determined through a qualifier scheduled to be played from 19 to 22 February 2016. India and Pakistan are scheduled to meet in Dhaka on February 27 (Saturday).
Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Oman and United Arab Emirates will play the qualifying tournament and the topper will make the main draw. Asia Cup opens with India and hosts Bangladesh playing on February 24. All matches of the tourney will be played at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. After the Asian Cricket Council was downsized by the ICC in April 2015, it was announced that upcoming Asia Cup events will be played on a rotation basis in ODI and T20I format based on respective next world events under the ICC. This means that the 2016 and 2020 events will be played using the T20I format, ahead of the 2016 and 2020 World Twenty20s, and the 2018 and 2022 events will be played in ODI format, ahead of the 2019 and2023 World Cups respectively.
