India To Tour Zimbabwe for 3 ODIs and T20Is in July 2015: The Zimbabwean Cricket Board has confirmed that India will be touring Zimbabwe for an ODI series followed by a T20 series. It has also been reported that India will be playing a total of 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is in Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwean Cricket Board tweeted of the same and also mentioned of the fact that India will be arriving Zimbabwe on 7th July.

The Indian team has hectic fixtures of Cricket in this summer and they will be playing series against Sri Lanka and South Africa as well. The tour of Zimbabwe has been added to the list shortly and after their assignment in Bangladesh, the team will be touring to Zimbabwe. Back in 2013, India toured Zimbabwe under Virat Kohli’s captaincy and swept the opposition 5-0 in the ODI series.

The chairman of the Zimbabwe Cricket Committee had his words upon the issue. He said: “I can confirm that it’s now a done deal. India are arriving on July 7 and will leave on the 20th (and will play) 3 ODIs and 2 T20s. The schedule for the matches is almost done and should be released later this week. However, all the matches will be played in Harare.”

Also, as a matter of fact, Campbell seemed joyful about the fact that New Zealand would be touring Zimbabwe too just after India’s departure and the Black Caps would play 3 ODIs and a solitary T20I in Zimbabwe.

There are even prospects of Pakistan visiting Zimbabwe for a series as they did the historical tour, visiting Pakistan for a T20 series followed by the ODI series last month.

The coach of the Zimbabwean cricket team, Dav Whatmore seemed to be delighted by the packed up cricketing fixtures for Zimbabwean cricket. He believes that these are opportunities to improve Zimbabwe’s rankings in the international cricket and sneak into the Top 8 so that they don’t have to play any qualification games for any World tournaments like the World Cup.

Whatmore also said that there is only one way that Zimbabwean Cricket can prosper to brilliance and that is competition. However, the Indian team is much unlikely to send their first team into Zimbabwe owing to the intense cricketing actions following the tour and some of the major players might well be rested for the tour.
