India will need a lot to work on day 3 after they were bowled out for just 105 in their first innings giving away a 155-run lead to the Australians. The visitors lost their final wicket in the very first over of the day just adding 4 more runs. India lost 3 early wickets but KL Rahul kept them in the hunt with a good 64.

His dismissals in a tame fashion triggered an Indian collapse as the hosts went down from 94/3 to 105 all out with Steve O’Keefe claiming 6 wickets. With a huge first inning lead in the bag, Australia kept increasing their lead with captain Steven Smith guiding them with an unbeaten fifty. The Aussies now lead by 298 runs with 6 wickets in hand at end of the 2nd day.

105 – India’s total of 105 is their 3rd lowest total in Test cricket in last 10 years. The two other lower scores are 76 vs South Africa in 2008 at Ahmedabad and 94 vs England in 2014 at The Oval.

105 – India’s total of 105 is the lowest in Tests which included a fifty. Previous lowest was 121 vs New Zealand in 1999 with Sachin Tendulkar scoring 51.

1996 – Last Indian captain before Virat Kohli to be dismissed for a duck at home against Australia in Tests was Sachin Tendulkar in 1996 at Delhi.
