India v South Africa 1st Test match in pictures: India wrapped up the South African script under 3 days, as captain Virat Kohli registered his first win on the Indian soil.

The 3 days have been eventful with India getting bowled out for 201, as Dean Elgar triggered a collapse in the Indian ranks. The pitch was doctored for spin and India did grab the advantage with both hands.

Indian spinners scalped all the 10, as Ravichandran Ashwin bagged 5-51. Amit Mishra clinched 2 wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja picked up 3 wickets. AB de Villiers stroked a vital 63, as South Africa went down for 184. India made full use of the slender lead, as Murali Vijay, who scored a stroke full 75 in the first innings; chipped in with 47.

Cheteshwar Pujara batted beautifully, showing the face of the bat on most occasions and milking the bowlers when mattered. The highlight of his knock was the towering six which he smacked in the last over of the 2nd day. He batted in a positive manner and lifted India to a competitive 200, courtesy vital 77 in the 2nd innings.

India set a tricky target of 218 on a spin-friendly pitch, and the Indian bowlers grabbed the honours in style.

Stiaan van Zyl was the top scorer for South Africa, with a fighting 36; while the other batsmen well like nine pins. AB de Villiers was once again deceived by Amit Mishra, as he looked clueless.

Ravindra Jadeja made full use of the opportunity and bagged crucial 5 wickets in the 2nd innings to hand India a convincing win. Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 3 wickets, as South Africa surrendered at 109.

Murali Vijay was the stand out performer for India, having scored vital 75 and 47 respectively.

In the bowling facet, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja shared 16 wickets between them, while Amit Mishra picked the all important wicket of AB de Villiers on both occasions.
