Both India and Sri Lanka squads are filled up with new faces and will be taking part in the 3-match ODI series under new skippers. The regular and senior players on both the sides will look to take the responsibilities and could achieve nearest milestones in their careers. As many as eight players from either side in the series stand a chance to acclaim milestones in their respective International and professional careers.

Here are the approaching milestones for the players ahead of the India-Sri Lanka ODI series:

45 – Number of wickets for Axar Patel in ODI cricket so far. He needs five more wickets to complete 50 wickets in this format.


98 – Wickets Siddarth Kaul has bagged in his List A career so far. He needs two more wickets to complete 100 List A wickets. Kaul has trapped the 98 wickets in 52 matches.


886 – Runs Danushka Gunathilaka has scored so far in ODI cricket in the 27 innings he has batted. He needs 114 more runs for completing 1000 runs. He will be the 2nd quickest Sri Lankan after Roy Dias (27 innings) to the milestone if he scored those 114 runs in his next innings.


953 – Runs aggregated by Niroshan Dickwella in ODI cricket in the 28 innings he has batted so far. He needs 47 more runs to complete the 1000 runs milestone.


2925 – Lahiru Thirimanne scored 2925 runs in his ODI career so far. He needs 75 more runs for becoming the 16th Sri Lankan with 3000 runs in this format.


4912 – Runs Angelo Mathews has scored in the 162 ODI innings he batted so far. He needs 88 more runs for becoming the 10th Sri Lankan with 5000 ODI runs. He will be the 4th fastest among the ten Sri Lankans if he completes the milestone in this series.


3870 – Runs aggregated by Shikhar Dhawan in the 92 innings he batted in the ODI cricket. He needs 130 more runs for completing 4000 ODI runs. He will be the joint 4th quickest and the joint quickest among Indians if he scores those 130 runs in his next innings.


15983MS Dhoni has scored 15983 runs in his International career so far. He needs 17 more runs for becoming the 6th Indian with 16000 International runs. Dhoni (9826 runs) is also 174 runs away from completing 10000 runs in the ODI format.
