Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli is arguably the best batsmen of the modern era across all formats. Apart from his heroics with the bat or while donning the captain hat, Virat has often hogged the limelight with his on-field and off-field antics. The Indian skipper is renowned for his funny demeanor and animated expressions while being on the cricket pitch or practicing in the nets with his teammates.

Virat is always full of energy and enjoys playing the game. On the eve of the highly-anticipated day-night Test i.e third game of the four-match series at Motera Cricket Stadium, renamed as Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Virat was at his witty-best in the nets as a few clips of him imitating his international counterparts and legendary cricketers went viral on the social media.

In one video that is being circulated on Twitter, Virat was mimicking the unique batting style of Australia’s batting maestro Steve Smith. This is not the first time that Virat has imitated Smith as he had done the same thing during the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) too while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In another video, Kohli had some fun moments with the ball too as he replicated the bowling action of South Africa’s legendary all-rounder Jacques Kallis.

Virat Kohli can leapfrog MS Dhoni to become India’s most successful Test captain

Under Virat Kohli, India’s Test team has done wonders as they stamped their authority at both home and overseas. After winning the second Test match against England in Chennai, Virat equalled MS Dhoni in terms of winning Test matches for India as a captain. Both Kohli and Dhoni have won 21 matches in India as captain so far in their career.

Thus, if the 32-year-old manages to win the pink-ball Test, he would acquire the top position in the prestigious list. However, Virat isn’t very attentive towards such numbers as for him making Team India win is more important than any other personal milestone.

“Records as a captain mean nothing to me or any other player. It is a responsibility given to me and I’m trying to do my best. This has always been the case, and will remain the same, as long as I play the game. These are fickle things which look great from outside, doesn’t matter to me as an individual,” Kohli said at the pre-match conference on the eve of the pink-ball Test.
