India showed their supremacy with the bat in the first ODI in Guwahati where they chased down a 323-run target losing only two wickets. The series moves on the Vizag where India need to focus on a couple of aspects. The management is looking for a backup pacer among this pace-attack which went wayward on a flat track. They will be hoping the middle-order gets game-time unlike in the first game which could benefit them going into the World Cup next year.
Windies might consider dropping Marlon Samuels for Sunil Ambris. The senior batsman scored a couple of fifties during the World Cup Qualifiers in February-March but crossed 30-run mark only twice in the ten other ODI innings he batted since 2017. Fabian Allen could make his debut in place of Ashley Nurse who failed with both the bat and ball. The visitors might also bring in Keemo Paul whose pace could stand a chance in troubling India’s strong top-order.

Power Picks:
Ambati Rayudu could be a good pick at Vizag where spinners are expected to have an upper hand. The new No.4 batsman has always produced consistent returns in the Indian colours. Chandrapaul Hemraj could be a handy pick though he couldn’t contribute a lot in his debut game.

Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu, Mohammad Shami, Khaleel Ahmed, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Oshane Thomas.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Virat Kohli should be considered as either captain or vice-captain as he has four fifty-plus scores in four ODI innings at Vizag. In the six International innings at this venue, Kohli’s lowest score is 65. Jason Holder has always done well when there is extra pressure on him to perform.
The Windies skipper could be seen leading the team from the front in this crucial game. Rohit Sharma, Shimron Hetmyer and Mohammad Shami are other options for multipliers. Shami is quite good at bagging wickets despite going for plenty of runs.
Expert Advice:
A risk of picking only two of India’s top three is needed for making better picks from other departments. It is really tough to predict which two of India’s top three will click in a certain game. However, the gamble could be taken between Rohit and Dhawan as Kohli will be a direct selection given his consistency and past records.

India are expected to continue their good run in Vizag and move an inch closer to yet another series win over the hapless Windies.
