India and Windies continue their rivalry in the ODIs as they will face each other in the second of the five-match ODI series on Wednesday. The way the Men in Blue upstaged the mammoth total in the first match in Guwahati, it looks extremely tough for the Caribbean side to make a comeback in the series. Though they are a young side and will try to come hard at the home side and the Indian team knows the same and wouldn’t want to take things for granted already.

Virat Kohli was in scintillating touch in the previous game and the chase master has upped his level from everyone else in this generation. The others in the line-up, especially the middle-order, will also need some game time with only 17 matches to go before the World Cup. The bowling looked thin in the absence of regular players but the skipper backed them to come good in the remaining games.

The visitors, on the other hand, will take heart from their batting performance in the last game. Shimron Hetmyer was the star for them and even the top-order should learn to make their starts count in order to post big totals consistently. The bowling and fielding, however, wasn’t up to the mark which cost them the encounter eventually.

Pitch and Weather

The weather is set to be clear in Vizag on Wednesday. The pitch is also expected to be full of runs much like it was in Guwahati on Sunday. Having said that, the ball also turns significantly in the second innings sometimes if the dew doesn’t come into play.

Team Combinations

India

India have announced the same 12-man squad and are expected to field the same playing XI for this game. All the three fast bowlers were expensive in the previous game and might get another game to prove their worth. Even Ravindra Jadeja wasn’t effective as he was in the Asia Cup and will need to grab the opportunities with Hardik Pandya injured.

Probable XI: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (c), Ambati Rayudu, Rishabh Pant, MS Dhoni (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Khaleel Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Windies

The tourists are also likely to field the same team and would want to guard themselves against making a plethora of changes only after one game. Both the debutants, Chanderpaul Hemraj and Oshane Thomas, looked good in patches in Guwahati and will improve after playing more matches. Also, the experienced Marlon Samuels along with Jason Holder have to give their best in order to compete against the strong Indian side.

Probable XI: Kieran Powell, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Shai Hope (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Marlon Samuels, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Ashely Nurse, Devendra Bishoo, Kemar Roach, Oshane Thomas.

Probable Top performers

Shikhar Dhawan – India | Shai Hope – Windies
