India wins with a stronger performance as Zimbabwe look clueless- Zimbabwe v India 2nd ODI Statistical Review: India pocketed up the series with a convincing win against a capitulated Zimbabwe side that surrendered in a tepid manner. The series victory surely will serve as a soothing balm to Indian fans all over the world and would have definitely given the Indian management a reason to feel proud. Not a lot was expected of this second string India side but they were clinically professional in its endeavors and Zimbabwe were left licking their wounds. Batting first India were given a solid start by Rahane and Vijay who chipped in with sensible fifties although some felt the pace at which they scored those runs wasn’t impressive.
At the end, Robin Uthappa and Stuart Binny made sure that India would cross 250, accumulating a total of 271. Chasing 272, Zimbabwe was never in the race as the rate at which they piled up their runs was not adequate enough. Barring Chibhabha’s 72 none was able to stay in the crease for a long time and wickets tumbled like a ruffled up pack of cards. At the end of it all Zimbabwe as expected fell short of the Indian score by 62 runs.
