Team Afghanistan is all set to play their first ever Test match. They will be hosted by team India in Bengaluru in the big clash. The match will commence on June 14 and the buzz around the Test match has already started. With the match coming close, the preparations have already begun. The Indian team is not taking Afghanistan lightly. One of their spin recruits, Kuldeep Yadav, recently spoke about the prospects of the historic Test.

Kuldeep Yadav was all praises for the Afghanistani team. He heaped praises on leggie Rashid Khan. Kuldeep cited that Rashid is the best bowler in the shortest format of the game at the moment. He expects a very healthy competition with him in the upcoming Test match. The Afghanistan squad boasts of four spinners in their squad – Rashid, Mujeeb Rahman, Hamza Hotak, and Zahir Khan. In addition to these names, the name of all-rounder Mohammad Nabi also stands prominent in the list.

“Rashid is the best spinner in T20s and has played well for all the teams [in the franchise-based leagues]. It is good to see such comparisons because he has also done really well in the shorter format. So, the competition will be tough. Hopefully, I will be able to perform for India and he, too, will give his best for Afghanistan,” Kuldeep Yadav told Sportstar.

Kuldeep Yadav expecting an even contest

Commenting further on the same lines, the chinaman noted that he is confident of a good game. The fact that both the teams have very good quality spinners in their respective lineups makes up for an ideal contest on the cards. He is looking forward to the challenge and some intense competition.

“This is the first Test for Afghanistan and I am confident that it will be a good game. They have good spinners, so it will be an even contest. I am looking forward to some intense competition,” he added further.
