Punjab will take on Rajasthan at PCA Stadium, Mohali on 8th April for Indian T20 league match no. 32. After winning four games and losing as many, the hosts are currently placed at the fifth position on the IPL points table. Rajasthan, on the other hand, find themselves at the seventh position, having lost five and won two.  The two teams have played a total of 18 matches in the history of IPL, with Rajasthan winning 10 and Punjab 8.

Venue –PCA Stadium, Mohali

Team news – Punjab

Punjab’s bowling lacks intent and it will be interesting to see what changes Ravi Ashwin makes in the bowling department. Apart from Ashwin, all the other bowlers have been very inconsistent this season.

Likely playing XI–Kl Rahul, Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, Sarfraz Khan,Nicholas Pooran, Mandeep Singh, Sam CuRajasthanan, Ravichandran Ashwin(c), Mohammad Shami, Andrew Tye, Murugan Ashwin

Team News –Rajasthan

Rajasthan will once again be heavily reliant on Jos Buttler’s bat for runs, while also hoping that Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes deliver.

Likely playing XI–Ajinkya Rahane(c), Jos Butler(wk), Sanju Samson, Steven Smith, Liam Livingstone, Rahul Tripathi, Stuart Binny, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawan Kulkarni.

Top picks

KL Rahul – KL Rahul has been piling up runs consistently this season and can you get you a lot of points on your Fantain Fantasy XI. On the back of his impressive batting in the tournament, he has also been chosen for the ICC World Cup squad as either a no. 4 batsman or a reserve opener.

Chris Gayle – This season of the Indian T20 league has been a lot about the West Indians, who have been churning out game-changing performances almost daily. Chris Gayle has found his form this season and can make the most of Punjab’s weak bowling line-up. Plus, the Mohali pitch is batting friendly, which is another advantage for the flamboyant batsman.

Ravichandran Ashwin – The skipper of the Punjab team is the only bowler who has been bowling well, thanks to his intelligent gameplay. Ashwin has not been supported well by any bowler but would be hoping that Sam Curran, who has shown glimpses of his expertise, can come good against Buttler and company.

Jos Buttler – In both the matches that Rajasthan has won this season, it was Buttler’s performance that stood out. He has been performing consistently well for the team and is a top pick across all fantasy platforms.

Rahul Tripathi – the batsman from Maharashtra has not been able to replicate the kind of amazing performances he put up for the Pune franchise two years ago, but he is a good hitter of the ball and would be looking to exploit Punjab’s weak link – bowling.
