English cricket Kevin Pietersen has donned a new avatar in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. After having opted out of the tournament this year, KP soon took his flight to India to settle in a whole new role. He joined the commentary panel for the T20 carnival. Truth be told, the stylish cricketer has been quite impressive with the mic in the tournament thus far.

He surely has made some new friends in the commentary box. One among those seem to be the iconic voice of Indian cricet, Ravi Shastri. Both gentlemen seem to be sharing great camaraderie in the comm box. Their friendship was very much evident with their recent conversation on the micro blogging site Twitter. It all started with Kevin Pietersen taking the Tracer Bullet challenge.

Ravi Shastri has made the phrase ‘tracer bullet’ his own as he is renowned to be using that phrase a lot during his commentary for the travelling balls. Hence, the recent trends in the comm box have seen many commentators and players taking the tracer bullet challenge. They try to replicate the way Shastri says it. Here is how Kevin Pietersen absolutely nailed the challenge:

Ravi Shastri looked quite impressed with the way KP did it and responded back soon calling him absolutely natural in his role. He tweeted, “Well done bro. You are an absolute natural #TracerBulletChallenge.”

Few hours later, KP was back to tweeting Shastri again. He asked whether Shastri managed to reach back Mumbai after the match in Pune last night. He noted that his driver drove him back to Mumbai like a tracer bullet. Well, the Pune-Mumbai Expressway often sees the cars move like tracer bullets. KP tweeted again, “Mornig @RaviShastriOfc. Hope you got back to Mumbai ok last night. My driver drove, ‘like a tracer bullet’!”.

In a very funny reply, Shastri told the English batsman that he had to slow down on his way since there was a lot of smoke coming out from his vehicle. He wrote, “I had to slow down bro @KP24. The tracer bullet left a lot of smoke when it went off. #TracerBulletChallenge”.
