After winning two in two, Sunrisers Hyderabad was looking favourites to defend their title. They had a sensational win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opener and managed to beat them by 35 runs and then crushed Gujarat Lion by 9 wickets, at their home ground, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

There next two matches were away from home which was a total turnaround. Dew played a major role in the defeat against Mumbai Indians, whereas middle order didn’t play a conventional cricket against Kolkata Knight Riders which led to a successive defeat.

With winning two from their first four games, Sunrisers will take on Kings XI Punjab in their next match. If there’s something that can boost the host, is that KXIP is also sailing in the same boat.

The David Warner led side would look to repeat what they did in their first two games and will try to be back on winning track. They have done well while chasing and will perhaps look to chase in this game as well.

With middle order being a concern for Sunrisers Hyderabad, they might look to add Kane Williamson and draft Barinder Sran to boost their bowling line-up.

With plenty of the tournament still left, Sunrisers Hyderabad will try to put their best possible starting eleven in this match considering the two back to back losses. Very few changes are likely to be made and here is the SRH Predicted XI for the SRH VS KXIP encounter:

Openers (David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan)

Without a shadow of a doubt, it is unlikely that SRH will tinker with their opening combination. The duo has opened together on quite a few occasions for SRH and has been successful for Sunrisers. Both David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan would like to repeat what they have done in past.

Warner was at his best in last season of IPL scoring over 800 runs in 17 matches with a blistering average of over 60. With nine centuries at his back and an astonishing strike rate of over 150 has the most pertinent role to play in this season. With already having 165 runs in 4 matches this season, he looks dangerous at this slot.

On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan is connecting the ball nicely but has not able to convert the starts he has got in first four matches. Till now, Shikhar Dhawan has scored 120 runs at an average at an average of 30. Provided the talent he has, he is expected to deliver and provide a good start to his team.

Top Order (Kane Williamson and Yuvraj Singh)

Though Moises Henriques is playing brilliantly at this position, Kane Williamson is expected to bat at number three. Kane has been in a decent form in recent past provides stability top of the order. Kane’s role is to anchor the innings and rotate the strike so that the other batsman can play freely. He may not have the ability to start the innings with big sixes, but he has his own formulas to maintain a healthy strike rate. He has played 8 matches in IPL so far and has made 155 runs at a decent average of 22.14.

The Punjabi stylish cricketer has looked in a rich vein of form as he stamped his authority on the visiting team.  With a whirlwind knock of 62 in the opener and a decent outing against KKR, has been the pick of the batsman for SRH in this season. The comeback into the Indian team has definitely helped him and has allowed him to play more freely. Yuvraj will have to play a major role if SRH wishes to get back on winning track.

Middle and Lower Middle Order (Moises Henriques, Naman Ojha, Bipul Sharma)

The consistency shown by Henriques with the bat adds the cherry to the cake and will be a huge boost for their side. The all-rounder provides a terrific balance to their side and has the ability to upstage any opponent. Henriques has managed to score two half-centuries in this season and has been able to provide breakthroughs at a crucial time.

Next in line, Naman Ojha, who needs to the finishing job for his team. Naman Ojha was expected to be the fulcrum of the side and arguably, the best wicketkeeper in IPL 2017. He has a vast experience of IPL, if he can capitalise on the experience he has, he can be an explosive batsman at this position.

Bipul Sharma has been playing a major role with the ball and over the years, he has evolved as a cricketer. He has been able to keep the runs down in the middle overs. He even played a handy knock for his side in the last game, but couldn’t help his team to cross the winning line.

Bowlers (Ashish Nehra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan and Barinder Sran)

SRH has time and again told that a good bowling attack is more lethal than a power packed batting line up and to boost the bowling attack. Left-arm fast bowler, Ashish Nehra who has the ability to bowl at the death has picked 5 wickets in first 4 matches and has been the doing a decent job for his side.

Bhuveneshwar, who was only considered a new ball bowler, has proved his critic wrong by picking more wickets at the end of the innings and restricting the run flow. The ‘Purple Cap’ holder again has a responsibility to lead the bowling unit.

Their X-factor for this season would definitely be Afghanistan’s teenager, Rashid Khan who was bought for 4 crores in IPL Player Auction and has impressed everyone with his brilliant off-spin bowling. He has been the best bowler in the tournament, so far, with not only bowling at a good economy but is also providing breakthroughs at crucial juncture of the innings.

Barinder Sran had a decent outing with the ball in the last year’s IPL, picking 14 wickets and an economy of under 9. He again will have a chance to make an impression in this game.
