The match 32 of the Indian Premier League 2017 is under the threat of being washed out. Delhi Daredevils are scheduled to play the Kolkata Knight Riders in the important encounter at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Over the last few days, the clouds have been playing hide and seek with the city. The last game of KKR that was played at the venue had a delayed start due to the same reason.

Now, as per the reports in Times of India, the weather forecast for April 28 is not very positive. There are 40 percent of rains on the day that poses a big threat to the match. While the rain might not affect the hosts too much, it might prove to be very bad for the visiting DD side. KKR sit comfortably at the top of the points table and need just two more wins in the season to qualify for the playoffs.

On the other hand, the Daredevils have only registered 2 wins in the six matches that they have played thus far in the tournament. The coming days see them being involved in a lot of fixtures with very little time left to rethink and regroup as a team. If they fail to get their act together in the near future, they might see themselves being virtually out of the race for the playoffs.

The Delhi Daredevils skipper Zaheer Khan knows this fact very well. He recently noted that the next few days will be very crucial from the team’s point of view.

“We need a winning momentum. In the next nine days, we are playing five matches. It is a very important phase. If we can string a winning momentum in this phase, things will change by May 6,” Zaheer was quoted as saying by News World India.in.

But with the rain threat looming over the KKR v DD encounter, things are looking grim for the Daredevils.
