The 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to get underway with the teams geared up to put up an improved performance this season. The season opener of the IPL will see the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at Hyderabad on Wednesday (April 5). While the team camps are all set for the big occasion and putting their permutations on the paper, there seems to be an unlikely villain for the IPL 10 season opener.

The city of Hyderabad saw the rain gods showing no mercy on Tuesday, a day before the match day. Albeit there was no serious rain, the pitch had to be covered up for the majority of the day. Also, the practice sessions had to be called off and the teams will now hope for the bright sunshine to break out tomorrow morning. Given the kind of weather the city experienced today, it seems that the clouds might not show any mercy tomorrow either.

Hopefully, no rain tomorrow. ?? #RGICS #IPL10 #SRHvRCB

Team Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Tom Moody posted two videos on his official Instagram handle to show how the players spent their day indoors due to the rain. In the first video, SRH opener Shikhar Dhawan is seen hitting cover drives in the indoor spaces at the venue. Moody looked very impressed with the cover drive that Shikhar Dhawan played and gave a thumbs up to him. The next delivery was a wide short delivery that he missed out on a pull shot attempt.

The second video sees another southpaw from the side, the senior batsman Yuvraj Singh playing the cover drives in the indoor spaces. Adding a caption to the Yuvraj Singh video, Moody wrote that the players found a good way to fine tune their skills for the opening match.

He wrote, “Raining in Hyderabad so players find a way to fine tune for tomorrow’s opener! @yuvisofficial @sunrisershyd @iplt20”. It will only be fitting if the rain threat subsides and the match undergoes as scheduled.
