Hard hitting 19-year old Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Sarfaraz Khan was recently reported to have been ruled out of the 2017 edition of the IPL. The news broke out when the head coach of the RCB camp, Daniel Vettori, confirmed the news of Sarfaraz injuring his leg during the final practice camp of the team at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Vettori had noted that it was very likely for Sarfaraz Khan to miss out on the entire season due to the same injury. He had added that they were awaiting for the BCCI to confirm the same in days to follow. “Owing to a leg injury during the final Bangalore based practice session, Sarfaraz Khan will most likely be unavailable to play as a part of the RCB squad this IPL and we are evaluating the same with the BCCI,” the RCB head coach had quoted.

However, now the middle-order batsman has posted a picture on social media claiming that he will be fit in just about 12 days. A very optimistic Sarfaraz, is hoping for a speedy recovery. Sarfaraz posted a picture on his social media handle of his leg with caption saying that it is only a matter of 12 days before he gets fit again. Sarfaraz first broke out on the IPL scene a couple of seasons ago when he played a handful of whirlwind cameos for the RCB set up as a 17 year old batsman.

He was then drafted straight in the RCB line up last year but was later dropped owing to his relatively lagging fielding abilities. Talking about the injury, Sarfaraz was fielding in deep midwicket region during the practice session when he apparently fell over the ropes and landed severely on his leg. He had to be stretchered off the field subsequently.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will start their 2017 campaign against the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad at Hyderabad on April 5. If Sarfaraz rests for 12 days, he will miss out on at least 5 matches.
