Kolkata Knight Riders team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan is a dynamic personality for sure. Time and again, he ensures to come out in support for his side at the match venues. KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir is known to be a good friend with the team owner. Recently, Gambhir spoke at length about a key issue that has been doing rounds in the news in the recent days about SRK.
There were several reports in the media that claimed SRK often intervened with the team meeting and the discussions. However, if the current KKR skipper is to be believed, Shah Rukh Khan is one of those owners who never interferes in the on-field decisions and calls. In a recent conversation with Harsha Bhogle for Cricbuzz, Gautam Gambhir noted that since his association with the franchise, he has never seen SRK intervene in the team meetings.
“There was a lot of talk initially that SRK involves too much into these team meetings and decision making but this is my seventh year, I have never had a single input from the team’s point of view from Shah Rukh,” quoted Gautam Gambhir.
Adding further on the same note, the southpaw remarked that even during his personal conversations with the Bollywood actor, he never discussed cricket with him. Recalling an anecdote about the same, Gambhir pointed out that Shah Rukh knows that it is in the best interest to leave the jobs to the professionals. Hence, cricket and the cricketing decisions must be made by the players only.
“Honestly, we have never ever discussed cricket together. Because I still remember, once he told me that if someone tells me how to act I would really get angry with him. So I can’t tell people what to do when you guys are there. You guys take all the cricketing calls,” recalled Gambhir.
