England pacer and Tymal Mills feels that putting pressure on oneself because of a price tag can only result in failure. Mills was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL auction this year for a whopping Rs. 12 crore.

While at a practice session with the RCB lads at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Mills told reporters, “I am not putting pressure on myself because of the money. Because if you do that, then you are setting yourself up for a failure. I am just going to back myself and do what I have been doing for the last two years – the last six months especially.”

Mills has shown his array of skills with the ball. He is naturally a quick bowler, but Mills can bring in some interesting variations in the shorter format of the game. His back of the hand delivery is lethal and rather deceptive, as has been seen during the 3 T20Is against India earlier this year. The tall Englishman said that he would stick to his cards and bowl to his strengths.

“I am not going to change what I have done so far. I am confident with what I do, how I have become successful so far. I am going to come and be aggressive with the new ball and then be smart with my change-ups as the innings goes on,” he said.

Tymal Mills is one of several English cricketers who made it big in this edition of the IPL. The pick of the lot was all-rounder Ben Stokes, who took the auction by storm this year. He went to the Rising Pune Supergiant for Rs. 14.5 crore, making him the most expensive overseas player in the history of the cash-rich league.

Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will meet last year’s finalists Royal Challengers Bangalore in the curtain raiser of the IPL on 5th April. Mills, who should feature in the tournament’s opening match, will be up against the likes of David Warner, Kane Williamson and Yuvraj Singh in what is sure to be a brilliant clash.
