Rising Pune Supergiants (RPSG) will feature for the first time in IPL but they have a successful combo of Stephen Fleming and MS Dhoni in their team and that will give them a big hope of doing well in the tournament. Along with team owner Sanjeev Goneka and MS Dhoni’s inputs, Stephen Fleming tried his best to pick the team for this year’s IPL.

Before the Auction, they have already picked MS Dhoni (C & WK), Ajinkya Rahane, Steven Smith, Faf du Plessis and R Ashwin in IPL Draft. RPSG String Points:

They have some very good middle order players in form of Faf du Plessis and Steven Smith and to support them they have also bought an impact player in Kevin Pietersen and they have world’s best finisher MS Dhoni as the skipper to take the team forward. Pune also added some quality Indian fast bowlers like Ishant Sharma, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh, Ishwar Pandey along with others in the auction. This will allow them to play all overseas batsman and R Ashwin and Baba Aparajith will support the seamers. They also have Mitchell Marsh, Rajat Bhatia and Thisara Perera in for the all-rounder’s spot.

Weak Points:

RPSG don’t have any young Indian batsmen barring Baba Aparajith and Ankus Banins and they also don’t have backup for Faf du Plesis and Steven Smith. If any among these two fails to pick form it may cause troubles for them in working togethere a strong XI.

Prediction:

MS Dhoni has the impact players in his team which can beat any sides and now the time will only tell about whether they will make any impact or not. But if things go as they have planned we might well see the new Rising Pune Supergiants crowned as champions of IPL 2016.
