IPL 2018: Chennai Super Kings appoint new bowling consultant

The Chennai Super Kings are all set to make a comeback to the Indian Premier League (IPL) roster this year. They have started off their preparations for the season as well. Recently, the fixtures for IPL 2018 were announced and CSK will be taking on the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener. Ahead of the tournament, they have now appointed Eric Simons as their bowling consultant for the season.

Eric Simons is not a new name for the Indian cricket fans and the world of coaching. Simons has previously been associated with the Indian team as well in the same capacity. Certainly, Chennai Super Kings are keen on roping one of the best in the business. The official social media handle of the CSK franchise posted the news on their official social media handle. They welcomed Eric Simons on the CSK roster for the season.

Interestingly, Chennai Super Kings already have a big name in their support staff in the bowling department. Former Indian cricketer L Balaji was appointed as the bowling coach of the franchise earlier. And now, Eric Simons is set to be the bowling consultant. There are some big names in the CSK squad in the bowling department.

Veterans like Harbhajan Singh, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, and Imran Tahir will be working under Simons and Balaji. Also, young South African pacer Lungi Ngidi is in the CSK squad. The team will be led by MS Dhoni, and that in itself, is bagging a lot of headlines. Over the first eight editions of the tournament, CSK had emerged as the most consistent side.

Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings managed to make it to the playoffs of each and every edition of the tournament they played in.
