The fifth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 will see two former champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) locking horns at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday, April 10.

Both the teams have won their first games in the tournament, with the CSK winning a narrower game against defenders Mumbai Indians in Mumbai on an opening day. The KKR also started well under their new captain Dinesh Karthik by winning a home game against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday, April 9.

The rivalry between CSK and KKR is an old one and while CSK has a better success rate (10-6), the KKR improved their performance against Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men of late, even defeating them in a high-scoring final in Chennai in 2012 to lift their first title. The two sides have played in 17 matches between 2008 and 2015 after which CSK served a two-year suspension. One match was washed out by rain in the 2009 edition played in South Africa.

In terms of the winning margin, CSK won two games by 2 runs while one by 3 runs in Duckworth-Lewis (D-L) method.

Here is a look at the brief results of all CSK-KKR games played since 2008, the first edition of the mega event.

In the next 10 games, both teams have won 5 each.
