Former Australian cricketer David Hussey has completed his term with the Star Sports contingent and is travelling back to his home country. Hussey was a part of the Star Sports Select panel in the Dugout show. The Dugout was the new innovative method introduced by Star Sports to give the viewers a better experience of what’s happening on the field.

David Hussey has been an integral part of the IPL, having represented various franchises during his playing days. Termed as one of the greatest T20 batsmen of all-time, he was one of the revolutionaries of the shortest format in its early days. Hussey was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the first few seasons and also represented the Kings XI Punjab for a short while.

Of the many David Hussey moments which mesmerized the Indian public, his outstanding catch on the boundary rope in 2010 against the Delhi Daredevils was probably the best. Not just with the bat, he was a pivotal contributor on the field as well. He did a brilliant job as a commentator and is now heading back after completing his successful tenure with the tournament.

He posted this photo on Twitter bidding adieu to Star Sports and India for the wonderful hospitality.

One of the biggest commentary panels of all time

In the first ten years, the IPL has managed to rope in some of the biggest names to come and commentate. But for the 11th edition, with Star Sports being at the helm of affairs, the tournament fairly has gotten much bigger. They roped in some of the biggest names in the commentary world and the likes of Michael Slater, the legendary David Lloyd, Michael Clarke etc., who don’t usually commentate in IPL, have consented to do so this time.

They also appointed various regional commentators to add more variety and to increase the reach. As it stands, the tournament is panning out pretty well barring that one incident where wrong replays were telecasted in the game between MI and RCB.
